Being a James Bond fan is not enough!
If you want to become Her Majesty’s best
known spy specialist, answer the following questions
carefully…
1. Who wrote the James Bond series of novels?
Write his biography in about 5 lines in your own words.
If you need any help, click HERE or HERE. Stick a photo
This is Melanie's answer :
Ian Fleming wrote the James Bond series of novels.
He was born in London on May the 28th in 1908. His father, Valentine, served in Parliament before fighting in World War I. When he was nine years old, his father died in combat. He later studied at Sandhurst, the elite military academy. He was a British author who created the famous spy James Bond. His stories became international bestsellers. He died on August the 12th in 1964.
2. Give the names of the six actors who have portrayed James Bond in the official series + dates and stick photos
Laure answered with a chart (good idea!):
3. Choose a James Bond movie poster. Write a quick description and say why you have chosen this one.
Alexandre's choice :
This movie poster is from the film “From Russia with love” with Sean Connery. In the middle, I can see James Bond. He’s wearing a tuxedo and he is holding a gun in his hand. Behind him, I can see two sexy girls. Bottom left, I can see two girls who are fighting. At the top, there is a helicopter and Russian buildings.
I have chosen this movie poster because I think it is better than the others. It is the most representative of James Bond.
Sarah's choice :
I chose this poster because I love this movie and this actor. I think this is the best James Bond film I ‘ve ever seen.
Yousra's choice :
This is Daniel Craig and a James Bond girl. Daniel Craig is wearing a tuxedo and she is wearing a dress. They look injured. Behind, I can see a burning house and smoke. I chose this photo because Daniel Craig is my favourite.
Maxime's choice :
I find that this poster shows that there is action in this movie, beautiful cars, attractive girls and a lot of stunts. In the middle we can see the principal actor “Pierce Brosnan”.The main color of this poster is my favourite color.
4. James Bond is famous for his:
Fast cars (choose one, find a photo + caption)
This is the car Louis chose :
The Aston Martin DB5 seen in "Skyfall" but before that in "Goldfinger"
Elias preferred ...
The Aston Martin V8 Vantage Volante driven by Timothy Dalton in "License to Kill"
For Alexandre :
The Aston Martin DBS V12 driven by Daniel Craig in "Casino Royale"
And for Sébastien :
The Sunbeam Alpine in the movie Dr No (1962)
- Bond girls (choose one, stick a photo + caption)
Brice's choice:
Denise Richards played Dr Christmas Jones in "The World is not Enough"
Amélie D's choice :
Her name is Eva green. She played Vesper Lynd.
I choose this bond girl because she is beautiful. She is a good actor. She played with Daniel Craig in Casino Royale.
Manon's choice :
Halle Berry is Jinx (a Bond Girl and CIA Agent) in "Die Another Day"
Sarah's choice:
Her name is Ursula ANDRESS; she played in Dr. NO (1962).
I love her brown eyes and she is pretty.
Valentin's choice :
Little Nellie, from “You only live twice”
Yasmine's choice :
It's a gadget used by Pierce Brosnan in "Tomorrow Never Dies". It's a mobile phone with a pair of extending spikes that can electrocute an attacker.
Yousra's choice :
The inflatable Hamster Ball, from “diamonds are forever” and “the world is not Enough”. To float and escape from your enemies.
Manon's choice :
It's an underwater car in “The Spy Who Loved
Me”- Stunts (choose one, stick a photo + caption)
Tété's choice :
It’s good stunt. This stunt is in the movie: “Live and let die”. A stunt artist ( as Roger Moore) is piloting the boat.
Alexandre's choice :
The Kenworth truck stunt ( in "Licence to Kill")
Sébastien's choice :
This jump off Verzasca dam (220m!) set a record for the highest bungee jump off a fixed structure (performed in "Goldeneye")
Sarah's choice :
This stunt was performed in "The Spy who Loved Me".
I chose this stunt because it is fantastic and I hope to make the same one day! (just joking!)
5. The villains (press « play »): James Bond’s enemies. Choose one and write a few lines about him (or her?), stick a photo
Amélie H's and Amélie D's choice :
His name is Doctor No. He is the villain in the movies with Sean Connery.
We chose this bad guy because this is the first villain appearing in James BOND films and we spoke of Dr.No. We think he is the most brutal.
Greg's and Tété's choice :
This is Jaws. His real name was Richard Kiel. He has got stainless steel teeth. He was in “the spy who loved me” (1977) and “moonraker” (1979)
We chose this one because his teeth are so big and so scary. They are dangerous for James Bond. He is an extremely dangerous villain.
Alexandre's choice :
I chose the villain Tee Hee. He played in “Live and Let Die” and was Roger Moore’s enemy. He‘s a very tall black man, very imposing .He has a hook instead of a hand.
On this photo he has picked up a chicken!!!
Laure's choice :
Le Chiffre defies James Bond in "Casino Royale". He cries blood and he finances terrorists groups.
6. Who is Q? What’s his job? Write a few lines. Choose one and stick a photo +caption
This is what Brice found out :
Q is a fictional character in the James Bond series created by Ian Fleming. He is responsible for the "Q" research and development division of MI6 who invents and delivers the famous James Bond gadgets.
There were 4 different Qs in the James Bond films.
7. Who is Money Penny? What’s her job? Write a few lines. Choose one and stick a photo + caption
Wassila's answer :
Money Penny is the secretary of “M”. She often has a small role in the film but she’s important because she's always in love with James Bond. In "Skyfall" she has a bigger role because she is also a field agent.
8. Who is M? What’s his/her job? Write a few lines. Choose one and stick a photo + caption
Manon's answer :
M is the Head of the Secret Intelligence Service (MI6) and James Bond's boss. It's a woman or a man according to the films. M is always an old man/woman. James Bond has a lot of respect for him/her.
9. Go to this page and listen to some music and to our favorite spy introducing himself: Can you write his famous catchphrase down?
My name is Bond, James Bond!
